Brotherhood

One of my loyal readers sent me the following e-mail:

“I know you love a good tag match, and I wanted to forward you a fantastic hi def one I came across from a southern indy promotion.

The heels are cocky, the faces are cute, and there’s enough just back and forth (not to mention hair-pulling and postmatch humiliation) to keep things interesting:

Hope you get as much excitement out of it as I did.”

They're cheating so they must be the Bad Guys.

The Aries Brothers are a couple of lookers, I’m sure they’re very popular with the fans of Global Championship Wrestling.   Scott will be working Face-in-Peril for most of the match, desperate for a tag with bigger brother Andrew.

The Heels are a pair of arrogant and vicious baldies called The Brotherhood.  The smaller topless Heel — Mr. O’Hagan — is especially skilled at acting like a cocky prick and stirring up the audience with his boastful posing.

Get up, bitch!

The Bad Guys also have a sadistic asshole manager (don’t they all…).  You can see him in the background wearing a suit — the sure sign of a sadistic asshole in Southern wrestling promotions.  At one point, the dirty suit chokes Scotty on the bottom rope, of course.

This match doesn’t break any new ground — it’s just a classic, well-worked Southern style Baby-Face beating with lots of pathetic suffering by little Scotty, and lots of unnecessary cruelty like this nasty hair pull.  See how cocky O’Hagan poses with his dick pressed against the back of his victim’s head?  Just because it’s not innovative doesn’t mean I dislike it.  On the contrary, I love this match because it ticks all the boxes I yearn for in Tag Team wrestling.

Aries has zero chance against these big bald bastards!

Double-teaming is another element I look for in Tag Team wrestling, as you’re probably aware.  My reader who sent me the link to this video certainly was aware, since he correctly predicted I would enjoy the Brotherhood’s innovative Two-on-One shenanigans.

Here is a sweet Double Leg Trip as the big baldies sweep Scott off his feet and slam the back of his skull into the mat.

Can't you defend yourself??

Of the two Aries Brothers, Scott is the smaller and less likely to succeed in pro wrestling. For example, he can’t even raise his arms to defend his chest from O’Malley’s relentless fist.

I got the sense (or maybe I fantasized) that Andrew is the brother who wants to be a wrestler, and Scott is trying to support his brother’s dreams.  So Scott quit his job as a tax accountant and agreed to be his bro’s Tag Team partner.  Scott soon lived to regret that decision after all the torture and abuse he suffered.

Even Andrew is no match for these baddies.

Eventually, Scott reaches the tag and bigger brother Andrew storms into the ring.  But the Brotherhood are too crafty and cruel.

O’Malley hoists Andrew up in face-to-crotch position, and O’Hagan soars off the top rope to Clothesline poor Andrew on the back of his head.  Usually one would expect the weaker Face-In-Peril partner to suffer the finishing move and humiliating pinfall, but in this case, Andrew does the job.

You might recall that my reader also promised some “postmatch humiliation” and sure enough, the Brotherhood pound on the handsome brothers after the bell has rung.  Then they toss poor Scott and Andrew right out to the floor where they roll around with hurt backs.  It’s delightful cruelty and abuse.

Thanks for the link to this match — you were correct in guessing I would enjoy it.  I must be getting too predictable with my tastes in pro wrestling, but oh well, I know what I like to watch and this match certainly fits the bill.
