Smooth Backbreaker Combo

When I posted my tribute to Backbreakers a few days ago, one of my readers asked: “Have you see the youtube video of Matt Taven stringing together a series of backbreakers to subdue his opponent Julian Starr during their match from Beyond Wrestling?  It’s sick it’s Under Smooth Backbreaker Combo.

Step 1: Soften his spine with an Irish Whip to the corner.

So I checked out the short video clip recommended by Jake Slammer and created this series of animations to break down this smooth series.

Taven begins his punishment by whipping a compliant Starr into the far corner.  Starr bounces out obediently, willing to suffer more back abuse.

Step 2: Bust him across your knee.

As Starr returns to center ring, Taven scoops him up and drops him into a nice Over The Knee Backbreaker.  That move always looks nice and harmful.

You can hear Starr delivering good verbal reactions if you view the video: a sexy “Awwhh!”  after the Irish Whip and “Ewwwf!!” following this Backbreaker.

Step 3: Flip his ass into position for the next one.

Starr is now at Taven’s physical beck and call, complying with every instruction like a well-trained dance partner.

Taven easily hoists Starr up, flips him onto his feet, and bends him over — ready to endure the next assault on his lower back…

Step 4: OTK him all over again.

His arms trapped behind his back, the helpless Starr is lifted again and broken across Taven’s knee in another OTK Backbreaker!

The fact that these moves are happening in quick succession — one after the next with no response from Starr — further emphasizes the sense of one-sided devastation.  Starr is shown to have zero power, easily maneuvered from one Backbreaker into the next.  His helplessness and vulnerability are therefore enhanced.

Step 5: Pin your broken ragdoll.

Finally, Starr is dropped carelessly to the mat, exhausted and suffering.  His legs open in a jobbery spread-eagle position as Taven lies on top of him to hook a leg.

I prefer to imagine that Taven won the match here, following that nice series of killer moves, but probably Starr kicked out for more.

I agree this was a nice series of moves by a pair of fun-to-look-at athletes.  Thanks Jake for recommending this video.

Love Julian Starr! His boyish look with that beefy build is quite a combination, and he looks stunning when he is slammed into backbreaker agony.

You’re welcome, the least I can do for my most favorite website.
