More Often Than Not

In my archives, I recently found an old video featuring two of my favorite Tag Teams: the Rockers (Shawn & Marty) vs. the Rougeau Brothers (Jacques and Raymond.) I always enjoyed when these teams would battle because, more often than not, the hunky, sadistic Rougeau Bullies would isolate one of the pretty-boy Rockers (which would be Marty more often than not) and just brutalize him two-against-one, ripping him limb from limb while Shawn watched in frustrated impotence from the far corner. It’s exactly the kind of wrestling that turns me on more often than not!

I recently posted the video in two parts on YouTube. Part 1 begins with the Rougeaus cheating to gain control of poor, hapless Marty Jannetty, culminating in a long-held Ab Stretch by Jacques. Part 2 opens with the punishing Ab Stretch followed by a series of painful Chinlocks and Camel Clutches on poor Marty the Ragdoll. Of course the ref is obsessed with keeping an outraged Shawn Michaels out of the ring while the Rougeaus enact their punishment.

The Rougeaus perform this punishing Ab Stretch (followed by some dirty Double-Teaming) more often than not in their matches, and I always enjoy this spot when they do it. In fact, I wrote an article back in May 2003 on my original Wrestling Arsenal website (has it really been 17 years already?!) praising a gorgeous pair of Ab Stretches the Rougeaus used on Jannetty. The camera zoomed in close on Marty’s torso and face for this one, really mind-fucking me with the sheer homo-erotic intensity of Marty’s suffering.

And by the way, you know I couldn’t allow the Rockers to have their early Shine and occasional Hope Spots in my video. I had to edit the footage to strip those moments of control away from them. And unfortunately for all the Baby-Face heroes in my archives, I’m only getting better and better with my video editing skills, learning how to repeat painful moves, zoom in on agonized expressions, overlay hot commentary, and copy and paste the most brutal attacks.

So if you watch my videos of this match, you’ll see how I prolonged and emphasized Marty’s agony. I turned a single Belly Buster into a series of four or five. I allowed Raymond to kick Marty out of the ring not just once, but a good half-dozen times.

I slowed down the Ab Stretch to force Marty to endure the pain for several extra minutes. This is what I do for fun! I’m such a sadistic perv, but I can’t help it! More often than not, I get off on making the beloved Baby-Faces suffer a good long beating — especially pretty ones with long flowey hair.

I did some research for this article and, according to one of those wrestling match databases, the Rockers rassled the Rougeaus over 60 times! Below is a list of all their matches. Imagine getting to wrestle with those hunky Rougeau brothers multiple times per week — what a pleasure! And you know poor Marty played the Face-in-Peril for most of those matches, suffering the bulk of the Rougeaus’ skillful abuse. I’ll bet by the 30th or 40th meeting, the Rougeaus had him well trained to behave like a submissive puppy, rolling over on command.

Here are some random statistics I derived from their 62 matches:

  • The Rougeaus only won 16 of the 62 matches (26%) — mostly in the beginning when they must’ve been the team being pushed.
  • Only 6 of their 62 matches (10%) had been preserved on YouTube or DailyMotion: matches #1, #2, #3, #5, #47, and #49. See the links in the list below. Thanks to my recent discovery, we now have another of their matches archived for posterity: match #7.
  • Of the 7 matches available on social media, Marty surprisingly plays the suffering FIP in only 2 of them: #1 and my #7. Even though Shawn is normally the Safe Partner, he does the job in the other 5 videos that have been preserved, It appears that people prefer to see Shawn suffer, but I always felt Marty did a great job and was just as gorgeous as Shawn at that time.
  • In late 1989, these teams wrestled a series of 7 marathon matches lasting for an hour or longer. These marathons have never been broadcast, but damn, I’d LOVE to see them!! Come on WWE.com — I promise to subscribe to your premium channel if you show us some one-hour-long Rougeau dominance!

One Response to More Often Than Not

  1. Phil says:

I had such a thing for the Rougeaus. They looked best in plain red trunks, waiving the tiny US flag. Their wrestling was top flight. Sadistic and terrific aerial moves. There are great interviews with them and Dino Bravo with Frenchy Martin. They knew how to spin an angle.

    Thanks for the great gallery.
