The previous episode of the Mexican wrestling comic — “Sensational Struggles #446” — ended with Vampiro suffering a brutal three-on-one beating in the ring. First he was double-teamed by the opponents, the dreaded “Explosives” tag team. Then his own partner Pierroth joined in his destruction.
The story continues the following day, where Vampiro wakes up in the hospital. He lies in a bed, his face bandaged where his partner bloodied him with punches. As usual, the hero is shown proudly shirtless — no hospital gown needed for him.
The nurse reports he has a visitor…
Again the artist presents a close-up of the flirtatious Pierroth’s face, with his bedroom eyes and sexy mask facing directly at us. Earlier in the comic, a similar image was presented when he was putting the moves on the two women. In this context, Pierroth seems to be flirting with his young partner/enemy/love interest (or with us, the reader).
After double-crossing him in the ring, after humiliating and injuring him, Pierroth had the balls to show up at the injured man’s bedside! We wonder what his motive could be. Is he about to attack again? Is he concerned about the young man he injured and coming to make sure he’s OK? The scene evokes sexual tension with one man shirtless in bed, his hair askew and his bare chest exposed, while the other man stands looking and waiting.
It seems Pierroth had concealed a pair of crutches behind his back and wanted to taunt his victim by telling him he will need them. The purpose of this tense scene was apparently to emphasize Pierroth’s dick-head qualities.
Vampiro tears away his bedsheet to go Full Monty, but Pierroth quickly exits the room (the homo-erotic tension suddenly too extreme for a comic book.) We are next treated to another facial close-up, this time of the angry, bitch-faced Vampiro. As usual, his feminine qualities are emphasized to contrast with the manly, masked Pierroth. Looking like a transvestite, Vampiro is drawn with purple lips, prominent earrings, and long wavy hair.
Next we jump to the movie studio where the director learns his big star — Vampiro — has been hospitalized. (One would think the studio would ban its stars from wrestling while they’re under contract for a film.)
(And by the way, that nurse was sure careless earlier — allowing a masked Heel and known enemy of Vampiro into his hospital room and then just walking away, leaving her patient utterly defenseless!)
The director complains to his angelically handsome assistant about the potential cost of Vampiro’s injury if the film schedule is delayed.
The director orders his assistant to call back Pierroth to re-join the movie cast in order to complete the missing scenes. (But hadn’t they already found a “double” to portray Pierroth in Part 1 of this story, so WHY do they need the real Pierroth to come back?? Can’t they just use their imposter to portray Pierroth, and find a new “double” to play the injured Vampiro?!?)
Meanwhile, Pierroth is already busy re-writing the script with himself in the role of the hero. We see him typing a scene of violent punishment that he will inflict on Vampiro (Pierroth is the original slash fiction writer…) Clearly he has become obsessed with his rival, writing smutty stories about punishing the other man when he is home alone.
So Pierroth agrees to complete the film with himself in the role of the hero. A double will now be found to portray Vampiro (they sure seem to have an easy time finding these look-alikes to take the place of their film stars…)
But can Pierroth trust the slimy director to edit the film exactly the way he wrote it? Stay tuned, wrestling fans…
it is super hot when two men hate and want destroy each other!!
