Cobra Twist

The Cobra Twist, which is very popular in Japan, is a painful variation of the Ab Stretch where you lock your hands around the victim's neck for greater leverage.  This allows extra twisting force onto his spine, as this Jap is demontrating on his bleach blond victim.

Later we see the same victim, now with a bloody face, being bent and broken in some barefoot wrestler's variation of this deadly move.  Why oh why do these cruel bastard's keep torturing his spine in this same hold?  A man can only take so much Cobra Twisting!

Check out the very extreme twist this cruel Jap is applying to his helpless victim's spine.  A body was not meant to bend into the shape of a question mark, not even a Jap's body!  The poor dude is forced to look up at the ceiling from a forward-facing position!

Can anyone translate the Japanese characters describing this painful Cobra Twist?  My Japanese is a bit rusty, but I think it says something like:

"This samurai's body is being wrung out like a wet Kimono.  Surely he will submit to the powerful dragon with the thigh which is as thick as a rice bowl."

This dude smiles as he plays "Twister" with the masked man's spine.  This is a new version of the game of Twister, where you try to dislocate the poor guy's backbone.

Beau Nasty is not intimidated by this muscle man's mask.  He hooks his black boot tightly behind the masked man's shiny silver boot, inter-locks his fingers, and bends that hard body to the breaking point.

Back in the old days, they called this hold the "Chinese Rack" because they thought it was invented in China instead of Japan. Back then, China and Japan were pretty much considered the same place.

This masked hottie is trying to pull his opponent's arms off of his neck so he can escape the dreaded "Chinese Rack".  Their muscles flex as they strain against each other.

It's a good thing Low-Ki is a very flexible little wrestler because Steve Corino has his body contorted in an unnatural position with his arms pinned back and his legs spread.

What happened to this masked victim's other arm??  Oh well, it must have broken off from the extreme bending pressure applied by the dude in blue and silver gear.

Even in his rookie days, Harley Race was a beefy grappler in skimpy speedo trunks that barely cover his package.  Dory Funk teaches young Race a painful lesson with this punishing Cobra Twist.

Race has not learned yet that if he would simply grip the ring rope, which is inches from his hand, the hold will be broken.  Either the pain of this hold has clouded his thinking, or Harley Race is the typical airhead blond who forgot the rules!

Tito Santana suffers nicely at the hands of the Iron Sheik, scowling in agony as the Sheik slowly increases the twist on his sweaty body.

The bald hunk asks the crowd whether they want to see this blond pretty boy ripped in two pieces.  Of course they all scream "YES!!"

They slapped Don Muraco's agony on the cover of this magazine as little Mil Mascaras dominates the larger man with a Cobra Twist.  Check out Mil's bulging calf muscle locked over Muraco's thigh.

Another victim of this dreaded move, Terry Funk, is displayed on the cover of a magazine, his agony being exploited to sell more copies.  Apparently there is some question about Mr. Wrestling II's identity, since Terry Funk claims to be the real Mr. Wrestling II, and you can't Cobra Twist yourself.
