Face Punch

Ivan Putski was a massive brawler who liked to use his powerful body to punish his competition.  Here he prepares to knock Bobby Duncum's block off, even though Duncum is the larger man.

This American stud with the bulging speedo shows the Japanese fans how we fight in the good old USA.  He pounds his fist right in the Japanese dude's kisser, as the fans watch this brutality in horror.

CRACK!!!  Usually the grapplers wearing singlets prefer scientific wrestling, but this singlet wrestler drives his forearm into the other man's face to knock him senseless.

This bully in white trunks yanked down the other wrestler's singlet to expose his underwear.  Then he proceeded to beat him like a rented mule.

The big cowboy in the tall leather boots does not want to beat Bob Backlund, he wants to destroy him.  He's about to drive that fist into the soft spot on the back of Backlund's head.

This caption is better than any I could write:

Lisowski, right, admits that he can't control himself in the ring. "I just go nuts," he says.  "I just want to rip my opponents to pieces.  I know it's bad because I can get myself arrested for murder."  Don Fargo is the victim at left.

Crusher's right fist darts out and Fargo's head jolts backward.

The brutality and violence of classic Pro Wrestling continues...

This mysterious masked man, the Great Bolo, roughs it up with John Paul Hennig. He slams the handsome wrestler in the face a "wicked right hand."

This hairy-chested young Brit cracks his opponent in the jaw with a stiff forearm.

I think you are supposed to back off when a man is on the ropes, not press up tightly against him crotch-to-crotch while pounding your fist into his face!

The photographer caught this bare-chested bruiser's fist at the moment of impact against the young blond boy's jaw bone.  Great timing as the stunned jobber looks for a soft place to land.

Crusher's beefy body is looking powerful in this photo, as he delivers a haymaker into the masked man's face.

Another beefy classic brawler, Colin Joynson, throws his body weight into his punches against his cuter, younger opponent. Gotta love the big fellas with the massive bodies from the Glory Days of Pro Wrestlin!

I like this dramatic photo of some long-haired hottie sending Lord Alfred Hayes sailing across the ring after a hard forearm smash to the jaw.

Why were these wrestlers so cruel and heartless back in the old days??  This beefy guy is on his knees begging for mercy, yet the bald animal hammers him with repeated fists.

Poor young Nick Bockwinkle looks like a child compared to this massive brute's huge, hairy physique.  I think Nick is about to have his head knocked into the third row.

Now Bockwinkle is in control, holding Brunzell by the hair as he measures him for a knuckle sandwich.  Despite Bockwinkle's grappling skills, he loved to get rough and brutal in his matches as well.

Later Brunzell takes control and checks out Bockwinkle's thick carpet of chest hair. Bockwinkle squirms around in agony, "much to the fan's delight."

Vern Gagne was a crafy veteran, who taught Bockwinkle many lessons about how to win wrestling matches.  (Lesson #1:  The owner of the company always wins.)

Another grappler out-muscles the hairy chested Bockwinkle and slams a fist into his face.

This drawing captures the hot, brutal violence of a fist fight, as some shirtless young hunk sends his enemy reeling after a solid punch to the chin.
