It was only a matter of time before
Pro Wrestlers brought the fascination and erotic appeal of deadly snakes
into the wrestling ring. John Tolos was probably the first grappler
to whip a snake out to frighten his opponent, Freddie Blassie.
|
Tolos pointed his snake at Blassie to
scare him away. According to the announcers, Tolos also had to wear
that thick leather collar to stop Blassie from biting his jugular. (And
people complain that wrestling is too violent today!)

Although they were shocked that Tolos brought
a deadly animal in the ring, the fans enjoyed seeing big, tough Freddie
Blassie run away in fear, unwilling to lock up with Tolos and his huge snake.
