Texas Cloverleaf

Dean Malenko loved the "Texas Cloverleaf" variation of the Boston Crab, where you hook his right ankle under his left knee and hug his legs with your arms before flipping him into a Crab position.

To apply this complex hold, first lay your opponent on his back and hook his right ankle behind his left knee.  Reach under his right hamstring with your left arm and circle your right arm around his left leg, joining your hands.  Hug tightly as you lift his legs to raise him off the mat.

Next, begin twisting your opponent onto his face as you step over his body.  He can't resist flipping over because all his weight is lifted off the mat.  Also, note how the victim's left leg is tightly trapped under Malenko's arm pit to hold it in place.

Finally, slowly lower your weight onto his body, putting intense strain on his back and legs.  Your weight will bend his leg painfully down on his ankle.

I'm not sure why they call this hold the "Texas Cloverleaf."  Any ideas??  There is a city in Texas called Cloverleaf.  Maybe it was invented in Texas and the encircled arms and legs resemble the 4 leaves of a clover.

This young Independent Wrestler named Chad Collyer loves to use the Texas Cloverleaf, along with many other hot classic holds.  Here he destroys The American Eagle, some patriotic flag waver in a mask.

Here is Chad Collyer going for a Cloverleaf on Matt Stryker in the tight blue bikini.

Collyer has flipped Stryker onto his face and now slowly lowers his weight onto his lower back while pulling up on his legs.

GRRRR!  Very nice photo of this intense stud torturing Stryker in those tight trunks.  You can clearly see how the victim's legs are locked up tight.

In a different match, Collyer again slaps the Texas Cloverleaf on Matt Stryker.  I wonder if Stryker feels humiliated by being beaten with this same hold over and over again?

Check out the resemblance!  Chad Collyer looks like a younger clone of Dean Malenko, except they lock the Cloverleaf on the opposite leg.  Maybe Collyer is Malenko's left-handed son or nephew or something.

Here is a Japanese dude applying the Cloverleaf.  He needs to sit down for maximum back-snapping pressure.

Devon Storm knows how to torture an opponent's spine!  He kneels on this poor stud's backbone while bending him in a Cloverleaf.

Some beefy stud in red gear forces his opponent to slap the mat and beg for mercy using the dreaded Texas cloverleaf.
