Bret's Sharpshooter

The greatest master of the Scorpion Deathlock -- or "Sharpshooter" as he called it -- had to be Bret Hart.  He destroyed many great wrestlers with this hold, and his fans loved it.  That Guido dude in the front row is sure enjoying this hold!

Check out the agony on the face of HHH, whipping his blond hair around as he struggles to break free.  The Hitman just grits his teeth and cranks on more pressure.

Even Goldberg, in his shiny gold suit, is no match for the dreaded Sharpshooter.  Bret tries to rip that suit apart by twisting Goldberg into this unnatural position.

The Patriot was a big muscular dude and a favorite of the fans.  But here the Patriot is broken and beaten, forced to slap the mat and beg Bret for mercy.

Bret almost looks bored with his domination over Randy Savage.  He sits on Savage's ass and calmly waits for the screams of agony.

They say Bret was supposed to lose to Shawn Michaels before retiring, but Bret didn't obey the promoters.  Instead he put Michaels in a Sharpshooter for real and forced the pretty boy to submit.

Steve Austin dominates and humiliates nearly every wrestler who gets in the ring with him -- except Bret Hart.  Here The Rattlesnake is forced to submit to the better man.

When Bret wrestled Sting, Sting tried to prove that his version of this hold -- the Scorpion Deathlock -- was superior to Bret's Sharpshooter.  He prepares to wrap Bret's legs up and flip him over.

Kick out, Bret!!

Sting is able to roll Bret over and put the pressure on his spine.  Bret refuses to submit to his own hold, so he endures the deadly pain and reaches the ropes.

In the end, Bret proved he is the Best There Is, Best There Was, and Best There Ever Will Be. He forces Sting to admit that Bret's Sharpshooter is more painful than his Scorpion Deathlock.

Here is a nice photo of Bret rough-housing with his brother Owen.  Bret is just goofing around with his younger brother, but Owen is getting tired of Bret always stealing the spotlight and trying to look stronger.

Owen's anger at being over-shadowed by Bret is starting to boil over.  Here they have some intense words after a tag team match, where Bret dropped his singlet to show off his superior chest development.

At last Owen steps out of Bret's shadow.  He challenged his big brother to a match and slapped on his own Sharpshooter.  Bret is humiliated, forced to submit to his little brother!

Later Bret regains his status as the older brother by putting Owen in the Sharpshooter and forcing him to cry for mercy.  These boys are going to hurt each other!  Maybe their mom should step in and send them to their rooms with no supper!

In the end, the brothers were able to patch up their differences, calling a truce by embracing in a long, tight hug.
