High Flyers vs. Bockwinkle & Stevens

Check out the High Flyers -- Gagne and Brunzell -- flexing their muscles and smiling for the camera in their white trunks and old style belts.  These guys are the original pretty boy tag team.  They are just too cute for words, but how long can they hold onto those belts in the brutal world of Pro Wrestling?

They won't be smiling for long, because tonite the High Flyers are facing these brutal heels:  the stocky "Crippler" Ray Stevens and Nick Bockwinkle with the thick carpet of chest hair.  They look hungry for some tender jobber meat.

Wow, Jimmy Brunzell has really pumped up his muscles for this dangerous match.  He is bulging out everywhere in those tight powder blue trunks as he struts around the ring waiting for the match to start.

I think the High Flyers have tie-dyed their tight trunks.  Either that, or they have stained their trunks by wearing them during too many private wrestling sessions.

The bell sounds and Brunzell locks up against Bockwinkle for a test of strength.  Meanwhile Stevens leans over to chat with their manager.  The blonds are probably discussing how they are going to cheat to win this important match.

Bockwinkle backs into his corner, pulling Brunzell in with him by holding both his hands. Brunzell is like a fly lured into a spider's web. Stevens reaches in to pull Brunzell's hair while punching him in the face.

Greg Gagne watches from the opposite corner, but he obeys the rules and stays out of the ring like a good boy.

Most guys grew their hair a bit longer in the late '70's when this match took place.  That's too bad for Brunzell, because the cheaters in purple trunks keep yanking him around by his long wavy hair.

Now what are these bastards doing to hurt Jim Brunzell?  Stevens is choking him on the ring rope and he is not even the legal man in this match.

Brunzell is gasping for air as Stevens bounces his head up and down like a basketball.  The tight rope digs into the cute young man's throat.

At last, Greg Gagne tags in, but he isn't doing any better against these dirty cheaters.  They trap him in their corner and pound him into hamburger.

At least Gagne can now see how it feels to be trapped in the wrong corner, helpless against the two brutal bullies, while his partner calmly watches from across the ring, refusing to enter the ring and help out.

Let's count how many rules these bastards are breaking while the ref simply stands there:

1.  Double-Teaming
2.  Interference by the man outside the ring
3.  Not releasing a man who is in the ropes
4.  Hair Pulling
5.  Probable choking.  We can't really see what Bockwinkle is doing to Greg Gagne, but odds are it's something dirty.
Gagne makes a desperate tag and Brunzell is back in action.  He slaps a very nice Abdominal Stretch on Bockwinkle.  I think the young baby-faces are actually going to defeat these rough old heels!

Oh no, I spoke too soon!  Ray Stevens storms into the ring illegally, despite the ref's complaints, and smokes Brunzell in the face, which frees Bockwinkle from the Ab Stretch.

Bockwinkle drags Brunzell back over to their corner and holds him down near the mat.

"Hey Ray, I'll hold him here if you want to run over and punt him like a football."

Stevens puts the boot leather to Brunzell's cute face as Greg Gagne continues to watch the double teaming from the other corner.  I admire the honesty of these High Flyers, but sometimes you've got to get in there and help your partner!
As Stevens applies a blatant choke hold on poor Jim Brunzell, Greg Gagne is looking away.  Maybe Gagne is flirting with someone in the audience, or maybe he can't bear to watch this deliberate cheating right in the center of the ring.

Oh my god, this match is completely out of control!  They are both in the ring now, gripping Brunzell's wind-pipe as the ref stands there in silent frustration.  This is ridiculous, they are being permitted to strangle Brunzell 2 on 1!

At last the ref calls for the bell and disqualifies the cheaters!  Bockwinkle is laughing as he continues to strangle Brunzell because he knows they get to keep their championship belts if they are disqualified.
