Self Strangle
 


This rare hold can be applied as a choke or as more of a sleeper hold variation, depending on where you position his arms and apply the pressure.  You cross his arms in front of his face and pull back to either cut off his air supply with his arm over his throat, or to put him to sleep with his own wrists pressing against the sides of his neck.
Wow, great trunks on these stout grapplers.  The sexy blond black guy is forcing his white opponent to his knees, and soon into a deep sleep, thanks to the deadly Self Strangle to the man's throat.

This big bully thinks it's pretty funny that his young victim is putting himself to sleep, his arms tied tightly around his own neck like a noose.  The ref doesn't look too concerned either that this young athlete is about to be choked out.
This variation, with the arms crossed over the chest rather than the neck, is designed to punish the victim's shoulders rather than to put him to sleep.  The ref checks whether the young hunk has had enough pain yet.

This ref must prevent the wrestlers from strangling each other with their breath control games.  First he stops the beefy guy in the speedo from smothering the singlet wrestler, then he must prevent a deadly One Arm Self Strangle applied on the speedo wrestler!
This hold is also known as the Japanese Strong Hold, maybe because the Japs perfected it, like so many other sleeper variations.  Here, the clever Japanese wrestler uses the Strong Hold to destroy this big, cocky American who dared to travel to Japan thinking he would easily beat the smaller Asian wrestlers there.
Another young Asian grappler controls his Western opponent with the exotic Japanese Strong Hold. The kneeling victim has never seen tactics like this and doesn't know how to defend himself! These lean young studs look great in their trunk and boots.

The hot young stars from the Ring of Honor wrestling federation love to apply this sexy domination hold on each other!  This hottie in black gear presses his knee in the victim's neck for added leverage.

The fans go wild as their hero in the bulging pink trunks struggles to his feet, desperate to escape the cruel muscle man's relentless Self Strangle move.
The clever young grappler in tights leaves his victim no hope of escape as he combines the Self Strangle with a Camel Clutch.  He plants his weight on the helpless man's lower back, grinning as he feels his victim slowly putting himself to sleep with his own arms.  What a vicious little stud!

Check out this hot little pencil sketch!  The artist captured the intensity and power of this punishing hold.  Muscles are bulging everywhere as the stud in control yanks back the victim's arms with a knee planted between his shoulder blades.  The kneeling dude's bulging singlet is on display as his head is bent back at a dangerous angle.
Wow, the daddy is punishing his boy toy in this classic match, both smothering the kid and interfering with his jugular vein using the dreaded "double arm strangle."  Nice extra touch with the knee pressed in the back of the poor dude's neck!

Here is a great view of how to cross the arms on both sides of his neck to press his wrists against his carotid arteries.  The stud wearing the Tarzan loin cloth is about to take a little nap courtest of the "Double Strangle Hold."
