Stretching Back in Time
Let's take a walk down memory
lane and check out some of those beefy hunks in trunks from the Golden Age
of wrestling. These manly studs enjoyed slapping on holds like the Ab
Stretch for most of the match.
Here is Brisco with the dreaded
Ab Stretch on his chubby opponent, one leg draped over the victim's thigh.
They just don't make grappling studs
like Harley Race any more. Check out his body soaked in sweat, with
a little blood running down his smiling face after his intense match.
The sexiest thing about old-school
daddies like Race was these skimpy trunk which were about 3 sizes too small
and looked like bikini briefs on those massive frames!
Big Harley Race was willing to job
for the handsome young pretty-boys like Bob Backlund to put them over with
the fans. Here Race allows Backlund to punish him in a deadly Ab Stretch.
Bob Backlund was a cute, boyish
looking wrestler when he first entered the ring. But fans were always
reminded that this smiling young cutie actually was a talented wrestler who
knew thousands of ways to hurt his larger opponents.
Backlund again demonstrates his
technical skill by putting Billy Graham, in the skin-tight white gear, in
the Ab Stretch. I wonder how these big veterans felt about being dominated
and humiliated by this goofy kid??
This bearded daddy likes to feel his young opponent's body when
he gets him trapped in a hold. He takes this opportunity to run his
hand all over the cute young victim's chest.
Is this really Mr. Wrestling II
under that mask? Judging from his skill at twisting Terry Funk into
a position of suffering, I'd say that's really The Man.
There is no better hold for showing
off the ripped hard bodies of both the attacker and the victim than the Ab
Stretch. This cruel kid even lifts his opponent's foot for extra side-splitting
pressure.
Let's zoom in for
a closer look at those shredded bodies, flexing and twisting to show off every
muscle, bone, and tendon. These studs look like Anatomy Charts!
When the mean
old heel wants to punish the victim for a long time, giving the fans a great
view of his suffering to increase their anger, he would apply the Ab Stretch.
Here the grizzly villain smiles as poor young Ray Rougeau is twisted
around until he cries out in agony.
If you're ever
wrestling in front of a group, and your opponent locks on an Ab Stretch, be
sure to show your level of suffering by twisting your face into an expression
of pure agony. The pain of the hold should help you remember to do this!
Steve Keirn had a classic-pro style
body, that always looked great in a pair of trunks. Even when he's standing
around checking out a new camera, this dude is a hottie!
Here is Keirn later in his career,
still sporting a handsome smile as he punishes hairy-chested Tim Parker. Muscular
guys like this hold because it allows them to show off their physiques for
the fans.
With his wild flowing hair and muscular
chest, Kerry Von Erich had a jungle-savage vibe going on. Plenty of
fans delighted in watching other wrestlers try to tame this savage wild-man.
Big Greg Valentine tries to discipline and control the wild
Von Erich lad with his patented Ab Stretch. Will Kerry's muscular development
allow him to escape this torture by the cocky villain in black gear?
Back in the early days of
Underground Wrestling Videos, Kid Leopard (who still was a "Kid") tamed all
the other young grapplers using clever holds like the punishing Abdominal
Stretch. Here the Kid appears very interested in this jobber's flowery
speedo.
Before twisting this jobber's lean
body around like a Bonzai Tree, Leopard leans in for a closer inspection of
that bulge tenting out the front of the kid's fancy briefs. I think
those colorful trunks will earn this pretty-boy extra suffering and pain from
Mr. Leopard!
Here are two strapping young Tag Team partners from the old days
of British wrestling. Tall, dark, and handsome Mario Milano signs an
autograph while his his sexy opponent Red Bastein sizes up the competition.
Later these partners must have broken
up, because here we see Milano trying to injure his cute former-partner with
the painful Ab Stretch. Maybe they are still best friends but just decided
to strike this pose to excite the fans who bought the magazine.
The fat brawlers from the olden
days -- like Wahoo McDaniel and Ole Anderson -- weren't afraid to strip down
to their trunks and boots and show off their beefy bodies for the fans. They
also didn't mind the humiliation of being trapped in long, painful holds like
the Ab Stretch.
When handsome young Jim Brunzell
climbs in the ring with a hairy-chested veteran like Nick Bockwinkle, you
know you're in for a hot scientific match with plenty of torture holds, sweat,
and cries of pain. This image was so hot, they slapped it on the cover
to sell more magazines.
Here is a closer look at the tension
in Bockwinkle's body as Brunzell, scowling in rage, tries to rip him in half.
Did anyone out there ever get excited when seeing images like this on
the front of a Wrestling Magazine?
Of course Tom Zenk was the ultimate
baby-face, with his perfect body and hair. With his handsome, eager
smile, clean-cut image, and all-around Boy Scout attitude packed into a tight
speedo, fans couldn't wait to see the poor kid in pain.
This veteran fulfills the fans wishes, twisting
poor Zenk around and causing him to cry like a bitch. Poor Zenk's nearly
naked body is barely contained by those tighty-whitie briefs, but the veteran
stretches him without mercy.
Sometimes you really have to miss the good old days of Pro Rasslin!
