Flying Lessons

One of the flashiest ways to take down an opponent is to jump up, grip his neck with your legs, and whip him to the mat with the "Flying Head Scissors."

Usually it's the young, flashy wrestlers, the "High Fliers", who get to show off by using the Flying Head Scissor.  Here a young stud in white gear uses the ropes for leverage.
The fans loved to watch handsome, muscular Dino Bravo in the ring, since he was one of the best looking wrestlers of his day.  Here he takes down a beefy opponent with his thick thighs.

Dino Bravo, that "really handsome guy", uses his legs to destroy a masked opponent. In the caption next to the photo, Dino is praised for his "great ability."

Kevin Von Erich was known for his powerful legs, "one of the strongest pairs of legs in the business."  Kevin would often jump up and grip his opponents between his strong thighs.

Now Ric Flair is the victim of barefoot Kevin's powerful legs.  Even the Nature Boy can't defeat Kevin's thighs.

One of the other young Von Erich brothers, wearing the white gear decorated with stars, flies up to destroy an evil German brawler, Von Krupp.
Today, some of the wrestlers wear some skimpy trunks, but even back in the Golden Age of wrestling, you found some beefy bodies packed into tight little briefs. This victim of the Flying Scissor may pop out of that speedo!

This hunk has his sexy leather boots tightly locked together, so the victim can't pull his head out to avoid flipping down to the mat.

Another variation of the Flying Headscissor is to sit on the opponent's shoulders and roll forward to pin him.  This hottie in white gear is about to flip his beefy opponent to the mat.

When Dory Dixon rode around on his white opponent's shoulders, treating the other man like a beast of burden, the fans rioted.  They must not have enjoyed seeing a black dude dominating and humiliating a white dude.
If you see a young stud like Rick Martel climb in the ring, young, handsome, wearing white gear, you can pretty much bet he will apply some high-flying Head Scissors to show off his athletic ability.

Here is a Mexican hottie taking down his Japanese opponent with the Ankle variation of the Head Scissor, to the delight of the Mexican fans.

The Japanese are famous for learning from other cultures, and Wrestling moves are no exception.  Here is a high-flying Jap using his boots to toss his opponent across the ring.

The Japs will even use the holds they learned in America to punish American wrestlers.  This bald dude is destroyed by the Jap's thick thighs.
Vic Faulkner was the high-flying young jock who electrified the British fans with his aerial maneuvers.  Here he prepares to clamp his legs around an older opponent's head.

Vic Faulkner and his opponent decided to wear matching tighty-whitey briefs into the ring. The young high-flier prepares to whip the beefy dude through the ropes.

Where the head goes, the body must follow.  This young stud in white trunks pulls his opponent over to the ropes and dumps him outside to the floor using a nice Flying Headscissor.

Sonny Siaki knows how to use his hard body to punish the competition.  He clamps the opponent's face in his crotch and dives down to the mat to send the big oaf soaring across the ring.

Here is a variation of the Flying Headscissor where you hang off the other man's head using your legs, forcing him to support your weight with his neck muscles.
Here us a drawing by some Mexican fan showing a masked stud with his legs hooked around the humiliated victim's face.

I used my new cartoon skills to add some color to the drawing, to spice it up a bit for you.

Here is a French cartoon about a Native American wrestler being thrown down and pinned by a shirtless brute called "The Gorilla."

The cruel Gorilla continues to sit on the beaten Injun, his bare chest on display as the ref counts to three.

I applied some color to the last frame to make it a bit more interesting.
